| Many people ask, why support the lifeboats when we live so far from the sea? Well, according to the records kept at RNLI headquarters, based on the "service returns" from lifeboat call-outs between 2002 and 2006 approximately 230 people from this county have been rescued by the lifeboats!
This
site is the first county-wide website for Royal National Lifeboat
Institution supporters and fundraisers. It is designed to
let you know about the wide range of fundraising activities
organised by the RNLI branches and guilds in Nottinghamshire,
and how you can help them to raise the millions of pounds
required to keep the lifeboats and their volunteer crews saving
lives. If you click on the link to the "Pride of Sherwood" you will find out about our Nottinghamshire lifeboat and the stations it has visited in it's continuing service. This is our direct link between the people of Nottinghamshire and the lifeboat service.
If you
have any suggestions for either improvements to the site or
for fundraising activities in the county then please sign
our guestbook or send
a message.
