B-754 The Pride of Sherwood has been on station at Rye harbour in Sussex since the 5 th May. In that time the boat and crew have been extremely busy. Below is the list to date of the call outs. Also there are a selection of pictures of the boat and crew in action kindly supplied to us by Richard Tollett, Lifeboat Operations Manager at Rye Harbour.
27 May - The Lifeboat was called to a Fishing Vessel for the recovery of a human body.
2 June - Inflatable blowing to sea on an off shore wind at Camber Sands. Put back ashore at Camber.
8 June - A small Fishing vessel out of fuel after a fuel leak. Towed back into Harbour.
18 June - Windsurfer thought to be in trouble. False Alarm.
24 July - Windsurfer thought to be in trouble. False Alarm.
24 July - Small Power boat with engine failure. Towed back into Harbour.
24 July - 20 year-old woman drowned at Camber. Crew carried out CPR until arrival of Kent Air Ambulance.
29 July - Sail Yacht with engine failure and no wind. Towed into Harbour.
31 July - RIB engine failure. Towed into Harbour.
1 August - Inflatable blowing to sea on off shore wind at Camber Sands. Towed back to shore.
1 August - Multiple missing persons at Camber Sands. Assisted Coast Guard with search.
1 August - Multiple missing persons at Camber Sands. Assisted Coast Guard with search. The total this day was 49 children, 6 inflatables and one dog fallen into the Harbour at low tide.
2 August - Inflatable blowing to sea. Lifeboat was stood down before the launch as others had coped with the situation.
5 August - Multiple inflatable's blowing to sea. A total of 16 children put ashore at Camber.
6 August - Missing persons at Camber Sands. Assisted CG with the search for 3 missing children, all found safe.
8 August - Inflatables blowing to sea off Camber Sands. A total of 12 persons put shore.
